Songshan Global Geopark is located in Dengfeng City, Henan Province and it covers an area of 450 square kilometers. In terms of the composition of the earth, Songshan Mountain is situated in the southern fringe of the ancient landmass of north China and within the borders of the park, its stratum of a 3.5 billion-year history from five geological periods has been revealed continuously and completely. Thus, the formation of Songshan Mountain is known as the “five generations under one roof” in geological circles and in fact, it is a stone chronicle of the entire history of the earth.
