A long sea cave was hollowed out along a dyke in the Permian Blow Hole Latite and then collapsed through to the surface at its landward end. Sea surge pushes water in and compressed air at the end forces spray up through the hole. The Blow Hole works best when a southeast swell is running.
在凯马镇,有一处二叠纪时期就已经形成的安粗岩岩脉,其内部充满气孔,由于海浪长期侵蚀之后形成了狭长的海蚀洞,内部塌陷之后一直连接到地表。如果海水涨潮,海浪就会涌入洞中,压缩空气,海水便从洞口激喷而出,行成了现在的喷水洞。当海水从东南面涌进,会形成特别壮观的喷水柱景象。
