Yarrangobilly Caves & Thermal Pool

The Thermal Pool at Yarrangobilly Caves is a constant temperature of 27 degree centigrade
The limestone at Yarrangobilly is of Late Silurian age and formed~420-425 mya in a belt that is ~14km long and 1.5km wide. The Yarrangobilly karst contains an outstanding collection of features, including gorges, arches, blind valleys, springs, pinnacle fields and over 250 caves. Six of its caves have been developed and are open for public viewing. A well loved feature of Yarrangobilly is the Thermal Pool. Water seeps through porous rock to a depth of ~760m where it is heated and then forced up through cracks to cracks to emerge as a warm spring. The spring discharges at ~100000 liters per hour at 27 ℃.
